Save Darfur Presses ICC Action, Sudan Sanctions with Security Council |

The Save Darfur Coalition today urged the U.N. Security Council to issue a “Presidential Statement” condemning Sudan’s lack of cooperation with the International Criminal Court, while also pressing world leaders to pursue targeted sanctions against those obstructing the UNAMID force deployment.
In a letter to Italian Ambassador to the United Nations, Marcello Spatafora, coalition senior director for international policy and advocacy Amjad Atallah, renewed calls for less words and more U.N. action to reverse a seeming slope of deterioration and set-backs in Darfur. Spatafora is serving as chair of the Security Council for December.
