Sign the petition

If you are a UK resident, please sign our petition to the Prime Minister calling for support for the divestment campaign and to ask that the government encourage UK pensions funds and investors to divest from target companies in Sudan.

Email your MP to sign the Divestment Early Day Motion

An Early Day Motion is basically a petition for MPs to sign, so if you are a UK resident why not ask your MP to sign EDM 1338?

The EDM was intiated by our partners at Sudan Divestment UK. You can see more details at: http://edmi.parliament.uk/EDMi/EDMDetails.aspx?EDMID=33113&SESSION=885.

You can find out whether your MP has signed it by visiting: http://www.theyworkforyou. com, and then you can email your MP at: http://www.writetothem.com.

Please write something here if you've done this.

Thanks!

Aegis Divestment Campaign

Aegis is an independent, international organisation, dedicated to eliminating genocide. It established the Holocaust Centre in the UK and, together with Kigali City Council, built and manages the Kigali Memorial Centre in Rwanda.

Aegis runs the targeted divestment campaign in the UK and helps to set up campaigns in other countries. We helped to set up Sudan Divestment UK and also work in partnership with many other groups, including local Amnesty groups.

The Aegis Trust's Darfur Divestment team can help you set up your local campaign by:

  • assisting you with an internet and email presence for your local campaign;
  • helping you produce divestment related leaflets and posters;
  • providing you with speakers, including Darfuri survivors, and films, for your events;
  • helping you organise your events;
  • putting you in contact with other anti-genocide activists in your area, including via Aegis Students, our student-led organisation;
  • providing you with advice on how to approach university bursars, pension trustees, and other persons who set investment policy;
  • providing you with advice on how to reach your local newspapers, TV and radio.
